Fresh starts

Its amazing what a single digit can do to my mental state. Knowing its a fresh start is such an invigorating feeling. Reflecting, i'm glad 2011 is over. For some reason, it seems to have been a tumultuous year with many mistakes in it. But also some of the best moments in it. I feel ive been stretched.. and I feel a fire in me I haven't felt in a while. Its motivating.

In 2012, I am going to take more risks and try to just always do the right thing. I am going to be decisive and assertive and more transparent. Indecision bread paralysis this past year.. missed opportunities to be close to people who would make me a better person and that I could love, and missed opportunities to just live in the moment, many perfect moments wasted. I am going to stop ruminating about good memories of the past and start making new ones. In 2011 I was haunted by a lot of good memories, especially about relationships that I took for granted, and so I am stopping that now. Its time to recreate and stop letting disappointment leave me in a state of inertia.

My 2012 mantra is as follows:

“The most important thing in life is to stop saying 'I wish' and start saying 'I will.' Consider nothing impossible, then treat the possibilities as probabilities.”
― David Copperfield

I miss you both and cant wait to see your faces soon.

  1. Mare, that was soul-searching. I haven't been on the blog in so long and I miss sharing our thoughts with each other. I feel like you voiced emotions very similar to my own lately. I have been feeling the same new old fire of motivation to move forward and stop spinning my wheels. I am excited about life and excited about the possibilities (ahem, probabilities!)that are on the next page. Yay for 2012 and three young, happy and driven women!

I cant wait to see you!!!!!!!

  2. God brought us all togetha for a reason :) Sometimes i think of Him in a really fluffy, cliche way, and sometimes His hand is so evident. Lately, its been the latter, hard to articulate.
